I just don't want to grind my axe in public, even if some of the public deserves a few hatchet jobs as back payment.

I'm trying to build an audience, not demolish what I've developed. So, I've toned down my approach. But I do remember that night rith after 9/11 and am still grateful to you for everything you did to put it together. To get to the tone you expected for just a moment, through, I still believe the VFPB cut the famous counterculural figure I played opposite. He's one of the guys I was thinking of: deep musical background, great voice, no sense of rnythm or dynamics.Vernon Frazerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09337904816251259095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3945496217250923185.post-2466831662798126932011-06-21T11:10:13.302-07:002011-06-21T11:10:13.302-07:00Peter

If we could go back in time, I'd be him at 19,digging bop growing at Moroe's Uptown House, whcih he lived near.

Ginsberg was always an excellent reader. I've only heard him recite to music on The Lion for Real. It's an excellent production that uses a number of people who, like my sidemen on Sex Queen, were very
hip musicians. But Hal Willner chose Ginsberg's early, rhyming poetry. It worked very well, and made an easy fit, but I really would have preferred to hear him recite all of Howl with a band like Cecil Taylor playing the music.Vernon Frazerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09337904816251259095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3945496217250923185.post-84204645440523909872011-06-17T20:25:09.868-07:002011-06-17T20:25:09.868-07:00Man... I couldn't agree more and recall fondly the night the VFPB reunited on the UCONN campus in 2001!Chris Sampsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10505787411432715748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3945496217250923185.post-58909921791389877702011-06-17T11:38:50.488-07:002011-06-17T11:38:50.488-07:00this sounds v reasonable.
